MINOR ATOM Stratford Holloway Automotive minor atom Warriors split a pair of weekend games.
Saturday the Warriors travelled to Burlington to take on the top-ranked Bulldogs and were shut out 4-0. A scoreless first period was relatively even, but the Bulldogs started taking over in the second with two goals in three minutes. Charlie Rankin and David Shantz skated well. Paul Bennett, who faced 37 shots, 19 in the third period, made several excellent saves.
Sunday the Warriors rebounded with a 6-2 win over North London Nationals at the Rotary Complex, led by a pair of goals by Jared Searles. Tyson Hall tallied once and added two assists. The Warriors scored four times in the first to chase the Nats' starting goalie. Dylan Hall, Tyson Hall, Tyler Lingard and Searles scored, with assists going to Tyson Hall and Everett Hawkins.The Nationals countered with two in the second, but the Warriors responded with two of their own in the third. Carter Lewis scored, from Tyson Hall and Lingard, and Searles finished the scoring with his second. Goalie Jarod Fleming was solid and Connor Otto and Trent Zorgdrager provided solid defence
