Warriors tie 4-4 in opener with Gioia's hat trick
Stratford Warriors Canadian Tire Major Bantams opened the Alliance league final with a 4-4 tie in Sarnia. Stratford’s Joe Gioia scored 3 goals and picked up an assist on the fourth marker by Blake Pickering. Steven King and Ryan Ridley had an assist each. Jack Bryan stoned Sarnia’s strong drive in the overtime period and stopped 28 of the 32 shots during the game. Stratford outshot Sarnia 34-32. The second game in this 8 point series is Sunday night in Stratford at the Rotary Complex. Game time 5:30 P.M.
