Stratford finishes round robin in 2nd Place
Stratford Motor Products Minor Midget MD Warriors completed the round robin playoffs by winning their final two games to finish in second place and one point out of first. Last Thursday they defeated the London Bandits by a score of 3-1. John Yundt opened the scoring with an unassisted goal. Matt Parkinson, on a nice setup from Jesse Way, made the score 2-0 at the end of the first period. Jamie Wells finished the scoring with an empty net goal. Spencer Marsh was again stellar in goal.
On Monday the team travelled to London and again defeated the Bandits by a 4-2 score. Parkinson moved to forward, from his regular defence position, and scored the opening two goals. Wells and Josiah Zein notched single markers. Ben Champion contributed 3 assists with Yundt chipping in a pair of assists and Braden Varga adding one assist. Call up, Cullen McDonnell, played a strong game on defence. Marsh was again strong in goal making several key saves. The team now faces Sarnia in a 2 out of 3 semi final playoff series.
