Streetsville Tigers Annual "AA" Fall Tournament
The Midgets opened the tournament with a 3-0 victory over West Mall Lightning.  Cian Patterson-March recorded his first shutout of the season as Jake Near scored twice and added an assist on Matt Woodhouse' first goal of the season.   Tanner Schultz contributed a pair of assists.

In their second game, the Midgets took on the Buffalo Saints where Michael Tiano recorded a 3-1 win between the pipes.  Luc Fisher had 2 goals and finished +2, Greg Orr and Jake Near played strong games, each providing 2 assists and finishing +2, Ben Denham scored the game winner.
On Saturday the Midgets met their final round robin opponent in the Mississauga Ice Warriors.  Patterson-March was strong in net getting the 6-2 win.  Fisher dominated with a hat trick, including the game winner, while Jay Schooley and Ben Denham each added a goal and 2 assists, finishing +3.  Brendan Morrow added to the tally notching his first as a call-up for the Major Midgets.
Stratford finished first in their pool and took on the TNT Tornados in the semi-final game Saturday night.  The Tornados came out strong and pressured Stratford all over the ice, forcing turnovers and recovering more loose pucks.  A couple of undisciplined penalties led to the Tornados jumping out to an early 1-0 lead in the first.  Stratford regrouped and came out with a better performance in the second and tied the game up at one apiece when Near got the puck to Jeremy Laing on the point who fired a shot that found its way into the back of the net.  In the third Stratford had a great opportunity to pull away when they were on a 5 on 3 power-play only to squander the opportunity by again taking undisciplined penalties which led to the Tornados gaining the advantage and capitalizing on their own 5 on 3 power-play.   Down 2-1 late in the 3rd period Tiano made some unbelievable saves to give his teammates a chance to win, but they were unable to muster any offence in the final minutes losing 2-1 in regulation.

The Midgets return to league play when they travel to Brantford and St Thomas this week before returning home on Nov 14th when they host the London Junior Knights Gold at Allman arena at 6:30pm.
