Warriors Tied for First Place with win over London North
Saturday brought the two best teams in the division together when the Stratford Crabby Joes Minor Bantam MD Warriors travelled to London to take on the London Nationals. With Xavier Rutherford still on the shelf with an injury, Noah Redfern-Lount was called on again to mind the pipes for Stratford. With a chance to tie London for first place with a win, the Warriors had all the motivation they needed to play a great game and they did. Redfern-Lount played a solid game and lots of end to end action the first two periods left both sides scoreless. Midway through the third period, however, James Drake buried one past the London goalie with the assist going to defenceman Matthieu Carmen.
With the taste of victory only minutes away, Redfern-Lount shut the door on any offense mounted by London and took home the shutout with a 1-0 win and a share of first place in the division. The whole team played well together and the defence deserves special mention.
