The Cherrey Bus Lines Minor Bantam Warriors went 2-1 in three recent Alliance league games as they solidified there hold on first place.
The lethargic Warriors lost their first game 3-0 to the North London Nationals before waking up and dominating the Nationals 5-1 in a return match and then hammering the Oakridge Aeros 9-1. The Warriors had a little skate
early in the week which may have led to more urgency in their play.
In the victory over the Nationals, Clayton Lewis scored 2 goals and added 1 assist while Joe Yundt had 1 goal and 1 assist. Dalton Smith, Scott Chisholm each added a single goal. Jarrett Baker had two assists with singles going to Bradley Kraemer, Evan Moorehead and Nathan Hall.
Stratford avenged two early season ties against Oakridge with a 9-1 defeat of the Aeros displaying some nice intensity and puck movement that hopefully will continue the rest of the season. Justin Beuermann had 3 goals and 1 assist and Dillon Weinheimer had 1 goal and 3 assists to pace the attack. Lewis and Yundt each added 1 goal and 2 assists while Chisholm and Michael Cossey had 1 goal and 1 assist with Kraemer adding a single goal.
Hall, Smith, Baker, Moorehead, Hunter James, Ewen Flanagan and Jacob McPherson each added 1 assist.
Goaltenders Jacob Ford and Baily Paquette provided the team with excellent goaltending all week.
