Warriors win with late goal
Written by Dave Graff. The SMHA Perth Auto Dismantler Major Atom Rep team took a two games to one lead in their quarter final series with North London in Bristol A playdowns Thursday night at Dufferin arena, winning 3-2.

Brody Jeffrey opened the scoring for the Warriors, intercepting a clearing attempt before skating in a wiring a wrist shot top corner giving the home side the early lead. Late in period one the visitors tied the score with a power play marker for a 1-1 tie after one period.  The warriors ran into some second period penalty trouble and found themselves down two men for over a minute. After some great penalty killing by Caleb Musselman and defensemen Jack Whitehead and Nathan Graff for the first minute of the five on three an unfortunate bounce led to an easy tap in for London, giving the visitors a 2-1 lead going into the third period.

The home side picked it up a notch in the third period and a great pass from Erik Smith out front to Colten Cowen led to Cowen tying the game at two a piece. Later with just under two minutes to play Owen Duiker took a Cowen rebound in the high slot and buried the game winner blocker side giving the Warriors the series lead heading into game 4 Saturday in London.  Braydon Tinning, who just missed the net on a second period penalty shot after attempting a forehand, backhand deke and Zachari Carman added assists for the winners while goaltender Nolan Traynor made several key saves in the third period to preserve the win.
