Written by Dave Graff. The SMHA Perth Auto Dismantler Major Atom Rep team found themselves on different ends of shutout games in Alliance Bristol A round robin playoff action on the weekend.
On Saturday in St. Thomas the visitors struggled early allowing the home side to go ahead 3-0 by the five minute mark of the first period. Several good stops by goaltender Tallyn Soper prevented the score from climbing even further before the Warriors found their legs to start period 2. Despite turning the tables and carrying the play for the remainder of the contest the visitors couldn’t solve a hot St. Thomas goalie and the game ended in a 3-0 Warrior loss.
On Sunday at the Allman arena the Warriors blew open a close game with Oakridge in the third period, scoring three times in a 4-0 win. A second period Carter Musselman slap shot from the right point gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead before Brody Jeffrey, Zach Freeland and Colten Cowen found the back of the net in the third period to round out the scoring. Nolan Traynor had the shutout in goal while Carter Musselman, Freeland and Owen Duiker added two assists each and Caleb Musselman and Braydon Tinning one a piece.
