Warriors earn point
Playing in a home and home series with North London Nationals last week, Dunny's Source for Sports Atom MD Warriors earned a single point as they continued Alliance West playdowns.

On the road in London, the Warriors employed a strong forecheck throughout the contest and netminder Brock Barclay stood on his head as Dunny's came away with a 1-1 tie.  The goalies stole the show in this one as both teams had several quality chances denied with highlight reel saves.  North London would get on the board first as they capitalized on a powerplay in the final minute of the second period.  The Warriors kept up the pressure throughout the third period but were unable solve the Nationals goaltender until the final seconds when, with Barclay on the bench, Jackson Nickel found a loose puck in the crease on a goal mouth scramble and chipped in the tying goal.  James Koch and Ethan Boersma earned assists on the marker.  Cameron Hahn and Ethan Skinner played excellent games on defense while Nathan Cardoso and Corey Van Nes battled hard up front.

In the home leg, goaltender Colin Wickenheiser was outstanding in keeping the Warriors in the game, but the Stratford offence was dormant and the Warriors were shutout by the Nationals.  Matthew Trachsel and Maddox Keller moved the puck well from the backend all night creating some excellent odd-man rushes for the Warriors.  Owen Akey and Liam Flanagan skated well and put pressure on the London defense in the offensive end for all three periods.
