Warriors Win at Home
Stratford Royal Lepage Hiller Realty Minor Peewee Warriors capped off a mid-week double header with a 4-1 win over the Hamilton Huskies at home Wednesday evening.

Starting strong but failing to capitalize on their chances early almost came back to haunt them again as they dominated the first half of the first period but had nothing to show from it. Then Hamilton had a couple of quality chances late in the frame that tested a sharp starting goalie, Ryan Bell who was up to the test.

Then with 8:54 remaining in the second period, Aly McLeod picked the Huskie defenceman's pocket on a forecheck and walked in and roofed the first goal of the game bar down. Two minutes later, Jared Lesouder stormed in and fired a low shot, then smartly followed his shot and banged his rebound home. Assists went to Adam Windsor and Callum McMann.

Solid defence was played by Bryce Lee, Josh Dowling, Cohen Lesouder, Alex Cassone, Tyler Pogson and McMann keeping the Huskie shots to the outside throughout the third period before Kaden Eybergen tipped Adam Montieth's shot in expanding the lead to 3-0. Petrie did the leg work digging the puck out of the corner earning an assist on the play.

Despite the lone Huskie goal with 5:09 to play, the Warriors continued to battle hard the rest of the way. They were rewarded when Mitch LaFay won the puck inside his zone and moved it to Lesouder who unselfishly head manned the puck to McLeod who wisely gained the red line, then capped off the win with the fourth Warrior goal into the empty Hamilton net.

The Warriors prepare for an all important game five in Hamilton Saturday leading the eight point series 5-3.
