Alliance MD Championships Peewee Tier 2
The Stratford Best Western - The Parlour Warriors put together a weekend of outstanding, hard working hockey, and brought home the gold medal in the Alliance Peewee MD Tier 2 Championships in St. Catharines over the weekend.

Illness ran rampant through the Warrior dressing room, but Stratford fought through all the adversity and preserved, with some gritty team efforts, ending the tournament with a 3-0-1 record.

In the tournament opener, Kolton Debus' shot from the point with 1:57 remaining, tied the game against their West Alliance rivals, the Oakridge Aeros. Andrew Ivey and Ethan Reid had solid efforts, and Jarod Fleming was outstanding in goal.

Stratford then went on to face  Hamilton later the same day, and pounded the Cyclones 5-1. Jake Emerson led the way offensively, with two goals and two assists. Mac Starkebaum had two goals from the point, while Josh Smith rounded out the scoring. Ryan Lott had two assists with Smith, Eric Van Nes and Kiran Wotherspoon adding single helpers.

The Warriors entered play Saturday needing a win or tie to gain a bye to the finals, and came out flying, jumping to a 2-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game, and hanging on for a 4-2 victory over the St. Catharines Hurricanes. Smith had two for Stratford, with Caelen Eveleigh and Marcus Nicholson picking up one each. Lott had two more assists, as did Tyler Lingard. Riley Mathieson and Emerson each had one assist.

Going into the final Sunday, things looked bleak with Stratford missing two players and with two more battling illness. Caelen Eveleigh, who sat out half the game sick, dug deep, drove the net hard, and scored at 7:09 of overtime, clearing the Stratford bench for a wild celebration in a 2-1 victory over the Hamilton Cyclones. Debus set Eveleigh up for the winner. Smith, with his fourth of the weekend, scored the other Warrior goal. Fleming was outstanding in net again, while Josh Bossence was a rock on defence, a defence that along with Fleming, only allowed five goals against in the four games they played.
