North York Knights Challenge
The Stratford Canadian Tire Bantam Warriors participated in the annual North York Knights Challenge Tournament this past weekend, where they fell in the semi-finals to the Burlington Bulldogs.

In their first game of the tournament on Friday, Jacob Ford was outstanding in net in earning the shut-out as the Warriors beat the host Knights 3-0.  Carson Dunseith scored a pair of goals and Nathan Hall added one.  Jacob McPherson had a pair of assists, with singles coming from Dalton Smith and Devon Carter.

Their first game on Saturday pitted the Warriors against the Columbus Capitals, and this time it was Kyle Morning earning the shutout in another 3-0 victory.  Dalton Smith, Nathan Ferguson and Nathan Hall scored for Stratford, with Bradley Kraemer, Evan Moorehead and Dalton Smith picking up the helpers.

In their second game of the day, the Stittsville Rams jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead.  Dalton Smith scored from Jarrett Baker to tie the game up , but the Rams answered with the eventual game winner shortly after and held on for a 2-1 victory.  The loss left Stratford in a 3 way tie with a record of 2 and 1 and once the calculators were put to rest the Warriors found themselves on top of Pool A and a meeting with Burlington in the semi-finals on Sunday.

Again a quick start from the opposition had Stratford playing catch-up. A  2nd period power play goal from Jarett Baker cut the lead to 2-1 , but that is as close as the Tiremen would get in a 3-1 loss to the Bulldogs.  Picking up assists were Dalton Smith and Nathan Hall.
