Playdowns
The Hiller Realty Minor Peewee Rep. team headed into the playoffs on a hot streak and were paired up with the #2 ranked Waterloo Wolves Gold.

In Game 1 in Waterloo, the Warriors came out flat in the first, but weathered an early push by the Wolves.  Tough defence from Caelan Trupp and Carter Musselman in front of the Warriors net kept the game scoreless through one period. Waterloo opened the scoring early in the second, but the Warriors tied the game mid-way through the second when Zach Freeland worked the puck to Zach Carman deep in the Waterloo end.  Carman threw the puck out front where it deflected off a defenseman’s skate and into the net.  Waterloo responded quickly and regained the lead a few minutes later and added another to make it 3 to 1 before the end of the second period.  Goalie Dailey Trainor made several big saves in the third to keep it close, but Waterloo finished the scoring with an empty-net goal late in the game to make the final score 4 to 1 and give Waterloo a 1 to 0 series lead.     In game 2 in Stratford, the Warriors opened the scoring mid-way through the first when Caleb Musselman took a pass from Carman, broke in on the right side and snapped a quick shot past the Wolves’ goalie.  The Warriors kept the pressure on and added to their lead 4 minutes into the second period when Nathan Graff scored on a feed from Erik Smith and Carter Stock.  Later in the second, great puck movement from Jack Whitehead and Freelend sent Carman in alone on the Wolves goal.  Carman beat the Waterloo goalie to the 5-hole to give the Warriors a 3 to 0 lead.  The Wolves responded with a power play goal with just seconds left in the second period, and another power play goal early in the third period to make it 3 to 2.  Some huge saves from goalie Nolan Traynor and tough defensive play from Owen Fraser kept the Wolves from tying the game and helped the Warriors take back the momentum.  On another example of great puck movement, Braydon Tinning moved the puck up to Ethan Aarts as he was breaking down the left side of the ice.  Aarts drew the defenseman over and feathered a pass across to Colten Cowen who buried it into the Wolves net to regain the two goal lead.  The Warriors kept the pressure on and closed out the scoring when Caleb Musselman and Freeland sent Carman in on a break-away and he fired a wrist shot home to make the final score 5 to 2 and to tie the playoff series at 1 game each.
