Warriors Win on the Road
In London on Saturday, the Nes-Tech Minor Peewee MD Warriors moved into 2nd place in their round robin playoff with an inspiring 2-0 road victory against Bandits Orange.

After a back & forth opening period, Maddox Keller got the Warriors on the board early in the second, making no mistake on a nice feed from behind the London net by Corey Van Nes.  Also assisting was Jake Bossence who got the play started with some diligent work deep in the Bandits end.  The Warriors kept London bottled up for much of the period with yeoman-like forechecking from forwards Brody Jeffrey, Jackson Nickel and Nathan Cardoso.

Late in the frame, on a fantastic individual effort, Nick McCabe split the Bandit defense and made no mistake going top shelf to add a much needed insurance marker for the Warriors.  Ethan Boersma and Owen Akey drew assists.  The defensive tandem of Spencer Eidt and Sam Gerber held the Warrior blueline all period consistently stymieing the London attack. The third period began with a flurry as the London offence rallied.

Warrior netminder Tallyn Soper stoned the Bandits on several scoring chances early to keep the opponents off the scoresheet and spark the tribe.  Defensemen James Koch and Matthew Trachsel responded with a several strong rushes and some crisp passing helping the Warrior offense create a flurry of chances midway through the period.  The London goalie was equal to the task, turning away the Stratford outburst and keeping his team in the contest.  Late in the game, with the London net empty defenseman Cameron Hahn cleared the puck off the goal line while partner Ethan Skinner tied up two Bandit attackers to take away a sure goal.  The game ended with Soper making two highlight reel saves in the final minute to preserve the shutout.
