It was a great year!
It was a season of improvements for the Minor Peewee MD team.  The goal at the start of the season was to get better and to improve the skills that the kids have been working on for the past two seasons.  Those goals were definitely reached, and surpassed this season with the leadership of head coach Terry Soper, Assistant Steve Eidt, Trainer Kevin Koch and team manager Jeff Keller.

It was a slow start to the season as the kids were adjusting to a new attitude and coaching philosophy from previous years.  However, the improvements started to show very early.  The games were a lot closer, the wins started to come and the kids were playing a different style of hockey, suited to their skills and their determination to get better.  IT is hard to compare stats from year-to-year.  However, sometimes numbers say a lot.  For example, Wins were up 350%, goals scored were up 100%, and goals against were down 70% (100 fewer goals scored against).

The Warriors were very close to qualifying for the MD championship tournament in St. Catharines.  They finished 2nd in their pool during the first round of playoffs, and came out short in the second round losing two and tying one game against a strong Bandits team.

There were many highlights during the season.  However, the best highlight happened four times during the playoffs and at the end of the regular season.  On more than one occasion, from different coaches, the team was told that we were the scariest team to play in the playoffs.  We were not the same team from the start of the season and from previous years.  After a win over Northridge in the playoffs, the coach from that team even commented that we were one of the hardest working teams in the league.  The compliments and recognition of hard work and improvements over the season made it a season to remember.  It also gave the boys some confidence and some determination for next season.

The coaches would like to thank all of the parents.  We truly have THE BEST PARENT GROUP EVER.
