The Minor Bantam Bristol A Alliance finals kicked off Saturday afternoon in Stratford, an eight point series, with the Stratford Cherrey Bus Lines Warriors and the London Jr. Mustangs skating to a 1-1 tie at the Molson Arena.
Both teams had a sluggish start in the first half of the game, and Stratford fell behind 1-0 midway through the second period. Despite carrying the majority of the play and having several glorious scoring chances, the Warriors could not get one past a red hot Mustang netminder who made some unbelievable saves, frustrating Stratford over and over again.
Connor Otto scored the lone Stratford goal to tie the game halfway through the final frame, on a nice end to end rush, putting it over the left shoulder of the London goaltender. The goal was unassisted. Overtime settled nothing, and the two teams are back at Monday night in London, followed by game three Wednesday night at 8:00 at the Allman.
