Minor Atom MD Game Summaries - Dec. 18, 20, 21
The AJ Jackson Construction Minor Atom MD Warriors played three
games in four days over the weekend.
On Thursday night in a high intensity game versus the West London Hawks, Stratford found the back of the net early on a high, hard wrist shot by Zach Richardson, assisted by Liam Hill at the 8:42 mark of the first period. The score remained tied 1-1 into the thirdperiod, when a defensive breakdown by the Warriors saw three quick Hawks goals, ending the game in a 4-1 loss for Stratford, despite the strong physical compete factor put forth by the Warriors.
The Warriors contended with the London Bandits in a home-and-home series Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the short-benched
Stratford squad fell to the first place Bandits. Bruce Munro powered his way to the net to score the lone goal for the Warriors.
Corey Jones and Ewan Ollson assisted on the play.
Sunday saw the Bandits visit the Allman Arena where they met with a fully charged Warrior team. Corey Jones opened the scoring in
the first period, picking up a rebound on a shot by Jake Heinbuch, assisting on the goal. Ethan Dam banged in Stratford’s second
goal on a powerplay in the second period. Liam Hill scored two goals, 23 seconds apart, in the third period, with Logan Lott
assisting on the latter goal. Stratford put forth a relentless effort during the 7-4 loss to the Bandits.
