Warriors continued their postseason playdowns over the weekend.
On Saturday during a quick-paced game against the West London Hawks, the Warriors put forth a resilient effort, but couldn't manage to earn the win. Jake Heinbuch put Stratford on the board, streaking up the left wing and wiring a hard wristshot in the upper right-hand corner of the net, beating the Hawks netminder. Liam Hill scored Stratford's second goal on the powerplay to bring the Warriors within one. Ewan Ollson and Jacob Boyer earned assists on the play. The Hawks answered back with a goal at the three-minute mark, and an empty net goal to take the game by a score of 5-2.
Sunday saw the Warriors in a defensive battle versus the Oakridge Aeros. Despite numerous scoring attempts, and a 6-on-4 advantage for the Warriors during the last minute of the third period, the game ended in a 0-0 tie. Goaltender Cameron Ground was solid in net for Stratford, earning his first shutout of the season. The Warriors played aggressively over the weekend, crashing the net and picking up rebounds.
