Written by Dave Graff. The SMHA
Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep team took to the ice twice this past weekend and
after running their league winning streak to five games on Saturday at home the
streak ended with a loss in London on Sunday.
Saturday at the rec centre the Warriors outshot the visiting Burlington Bulldogs 23-9 but still needed a late third period goal to put away the pesky visitors 4-2. Erik Smith led the way on the score sheet with two goals while Caleb Musselman and Owen Duiker added one each. Zach Carman picked up two assists in the win while Braydon Tinning, Maverick Mulder, Owen Gemmell, Jack Whitehead, Sydnie Miller and Ethan Aarts had one helper each.
Sunday in London in what was a very closely played game the home Mustangs parlayed a last minute second period goal and two late third period tallies into a 4-1 win to now sit atop the Bristol standings with Stratford. Miller had the lone Stratford goal with assists going to Aarts and Duiker.
