The Dan Pulman Memorial Tournament
The Stratford Minor Atom MD team, sponsored by Dunny’s Source for Sports, competed in the Dan Pulman Memorial hockey tournament in London, Ontario this weekend. The Stratford Warriors had goals from 5 different players to get to the semi-finals. 

Friday’s games saw Stratford play the London Bandits in the tournament opener. Two goals by Hayden White-Roy and one by Ethan Dam paced a well rounded effort in a 3-1 win. White-Roy was awarded the player of the game for Stratford. Game two later in the day saw Stratford face Whitby Wildcats in a fast paced affair that Stratford lost by a score of 4-1. The lone goal was scored by Thomas Sheldon. He was also awarded the player of the game which also recognized his defensive contributions. Saturday action saw Stratford face Waterloo. They came up short in a 4-1 loss with Sam Pepper scoring. Pepper was awarded the Stratford player of the game for his effort on the goal as well as his strong game. The loss put Stratford in the semi-finals in a rematch against the Bandits team from London. Getting behind early, Stratford hung on, then tied the game on a goal from Aiden Benton. Late in the game, London scored to take the lead and despite a push to tie, London held on for the win. Player of the game was awarded to goalie Matt Reed for his role in keeping Stratford tied by stopping key chances from London, including a fabulous save on a breakaway with 1:45 left to play.
