Thompson Warriors Clinch 2nd Seed Round Robin Playoffs Advancing to Playdowns
The Rheo Thompson Novice Warriors were away both Saturday and Sunday in their round robin playoff play, visiting the London Bandits on Saturday and the Oakridge Aeros on Sunday.

Saturday the boys would look to clinch their playdown birth as they would visit the Bandits. Hudsyn Chaput would open the scoring for the Warriors midway through the 1st and Evan Hughes contributed with 1 of his 2 goals on the day, with the helper belonging to Maddyx Chaput. The boys would add another in the 2nd frame but it was the 3rd period where the boys would open up adding 7 more to their tally, for a final score of 10-1. Hudsyn Chaput would lead the 3rd period rush with a hattrick adding to his pair in the first 2 periods while Maddyx Chaput added a pair, with Caden Ollson also finding the back of the net. Earning helpers on the 3rd period goals were Jake Schultz with (2), Caden Ollson, Griffin Harvey, Nate VanBakel, Maddyx and Hudsyn Chaput. Closing the doors between the pipes were Carter Keating and Jakob Strahm. Jack Bannon and Fischer MacPherson were solid on the blueline for the Warriors.

Game 2 of the weekend was against the Oakridge Aeros. The boys were eager and ready to go. Caden Ollson got the boys on the board midway through the 1st with Maddyx Chaput assisting. Maddyx Chaput would add to the Warriors lead midway through the 2nd and Jake Schultz would add another a minute later with Hudsyn Chaput and Owen Blackburn earning the helpers. The Aeros would score a buzzer beater on a scrum in the crease at the end of the 2nd fame, leaving the Warriors leading 3-1. For the second day in a row the boys would keep up their solid effort as they would dominate the 3rd frame with 5 unanswered goals. Hudsyn Chaput earned 3 goals in the frame, while Maddyx Chaput and Evan Hughes added the other 2 goals. Jake Schultz added 2 assists on the day, while Caellum Parsons, Jack Haines, Nate VanBakel and Reid Morris earned single assists. Caellum Parsons and Jack Haines should be noted for their strong play on the wing, while Piers Murray was persistant at clearing the puck from the Warrior zone, and Reid Morris would take away extra space the Aeros were looking for. Jakob Strahm and Carter Keating made some stellar saves again today, each only allowing a single goal this weekend. The final score on Sunday was for the Warriors 8-1. The Thompson Warriors have secured 2nd seed in round robin playoff play with a record of 8-2-0.

Next action for the Warriors is a home and home series against West London Black. Saturday the boys are in London and Sunday they will be at home with puck drop at the Allman Arena scheduled for 3:15pm.
