Warriors End Season as Champions!
The AJ Jackson Construction Minor Atom MD team ended the 2016-2017 hockey season winning the Alliance MD Minor Atom Tier 1 Championships held in St.Catharines this past weekend. 

The tournament got off to a tough start for the Warriors on Friday losing 4-2 to their arch rivals, the North London Nationals. Scoring for Stratford were Dylan Abel and Liam Ollson. Lachlan Stanley played net making several key saves to keep the Warriors in the game. Ollson, Owen Chadwick, Owen Chambers and Logan Hallock picked up assists while Sam Binns showed great hustle all game at both ends of the ice. The second game of the day saw the Warriors lose 4-0 to a hard working Hamilton Huskies team. Ryan McGill was solid in net and Chambers and Nick Wagner played well on defence. The team bounced back on Saturday with two wins. In the first game, the Warriors beat the Kitchener Rangers 3-2 backed by great specialty team play including two power play goals. Abel, Ollson and Ellis Schnurr scored for Stratford with Ollson, Binns, Zach Schultz, Liam Eddleston and goaltender Lachlan Stanley picking up assists. In the semi finals, in a rematch versus Hamilton, the boys worked very hard and beat the Huskies 3-2 in overtime. Abel scored twenty seconds into the extra frame to send the team to the finals while Binns and Ollson had the other goals. Chambers had a great game at the back end for the Warriors. The finals on Sunday saw yet another game against the North London Nationals. The Warriors led from start to finish, outshot the opposition by a wide margin and played their best game of the tournament winning by a score of 4-1. McGill was strong again in net for Stratford, the defence led by Schultz were steady and Jordan Keane was dominant on the forecheck and penalty kill all game. Binns, Ollson, Abel and Wagner scored for Stratford. Chambers, Hallock, Schultz and Ollson picked up assists.
