Minor Peewee MD Season Wrap Up
The Stratford Warriors All Equip Minor Peewee MD team wrapped up their season with two final games this past weekend. The first of the two games had them taking their last road trip together to St. Catherine's to face the Hurricanes, who set the tone right from the opening face off.

The Warriors took a period and a half to get settled at which point the damage was already done. Able to control the third period, the Warriors put one goal up on the board to win the period, but the overall game went the Hurricanes with a 6-1 victory.

On Sunday the Hamilton Huskies Red traveled to Stratford to take on the Warriors. In their previous meetings Hamilton took victories of 3-0 and 8-1, so the Warriors had their work cut out for them. The Warriors gave their best for all three periods and put a great deal of pressure on the Huskies only to fall by a slim 2-1 margin. A great effort in the final game for the boys, with every player stepping up and playing their best and working as a team to keep us in this from start to finish.

On the year as a whole I am very proud of the boys. This was a challenging season and it would have been easy for players to get down on themselves, but as a team the boys picked each other up again and again. As a coaching staff we put emphasis on having fun, developing as individuals, and developing as a a team. All things I feel that the boys accomplished. The season record does not show the hard work put forth in practice, the challenges the team faced, or the various players that stepped up throughout the season to pickup new roles and help us progress as a team. I'm very thankful to have coached this group of boys and get to know each of them, see how they reacted to different game situations, and how they handled both adversity and victory. I know that next season will bring changes, with new teams and new teammates, so I wish the boys all the best with wherever they end up.

Also a thank you to the team staff of Jason, Stu, Mark, and Leanne that put forth countless hours to support these boys all season. I am extremely grateful to have such a dedicated group that help make my job so much easier all season.

Lastly, thank you to the parents. You are an important part of all this, getting boys to practices and games, fundraising for the team, writing articles for the website, and helping organize events for the boys. The boys and coaching staff appreciate all you do.
