Busy week for Warriors
The SMHA Cherrey Bus Lines Minor Bantam rep team experienced a bit of everything this past week in Minor Bantam AA Alliance hockey action earning a win, loss and tie for their efforts.

Saturday at the Rec Centre in a game played at a high tempo with plenty of fine defensive play by both sides and excellent goaltending from Stratford’s Tallyn Soper, a second period Patrick Holloway goal answered an earlier Kitchener marker in a 1-1 final against the Rangers.  Ben ten Hag and Brady Ballantyne drew assists and Soper finished with 29 saves in the Warriors goal.

The Warriors began the week by giving the London Jr Knights Green just their second loss in 23 league games this season, winning 2-1. After falling behind 1-0 early, Connor Loerzel and Calaen Trupp teamed up to send ten Hag in alone and a nifty deke knotted this one at a goal a piece late in the first period. The score stayed that way unit part way through the third period when a great effort by Ballantyne into the offensive zone resulted in a tap in out front of the London goal for ten Hag’s second of the night. Nolan Traynor made sure that goal stood up as the winner as he finished with 23 save in a stellar effort in the Stratford net.  The only blemish on the week for the Warriors was a 3-0 loss in Woodstock on Wednesday night. A slow start doomed the visitors as the Navy Vets enjoyed a 3 goal lead by early in period two and the Warriors just could not find a way to climb out of the early hole.
