Novice Evoke Marketing Warriors Have Successful Weekend
The Evoke Marketing and Promotions Novice Tier 1 Warriors had a successful 2nd weekend into regular season play. With a rematch win against the West London Hawks and a tie against the division leading Oakridge Aeros.

Saturday the matchup would be on home ice against the Oakridge Aeros who have yet to be defeated and lead the Novice Tier 1 West Division. The Aeros came out hoping in the 1st and were able to grab a 1st period lead of 2-1scoring an early goal and a late goal in the period. The 2nd period was a true demonstation of how the result of the game would end up as both teams traded chances but could not score. The defence of Griffin Harvey, Piers Murray, Owen Blackburn, Jack Haines, Reid Morris and Jack Bannon did a great job protecting their own net and clearing the puck from their own zone with efficiency. It was at 13:07 mark of the 3rd period when Maddyx Chaput would bring the Warriors back to even as he cleanly beat the Aeros tender. Carter Keating played a strong game for the home team as he turned away all but 2 shots to keep the game at a deadlock. Also scoring his 1st goal as a Warrior was Graedon Smith with the assist belonging to Hudsyn Chaput. Final score was a 2-2 tie.

Game 2 of the weekend was at the Allman Arena. It was the rematch with West London from last weekend's home opener. The boys were focussed and keen to give their best. Stratford would jump out to and early lead on a goal by Maddyx Chaput with the assist belonging to Owen Blackburn. Caden Ollson would setup Maddyx for his 2nd of the period leaving the boys ahead at the end of the 1st 2-1. The 2nd and the 3rd periods had the penalty box busy for both sides, it was the stellar penalty killing of Jake Schultz, Nate VanBakel and Tyler Jackson that is to be noted as they would kill off all but one of the penalties and twice down by a 2-man advantage. Jack Bannon would capitalize for the Warriors on the powerplay on a shot from the point that had its destiny for the back of the net. Maddyx Chaput would complete the hat trick late in the 2nd with 0:05 remaining to leave the boys with a comfortable lead 4-1 heading into the 3rd period. The final tally for the Warriors was scored by Hudsyn Chaput with the assists belonging to the boys on D Reid Morris and Jack Bannon. Also earning assists in the game were Nate VanBakel and Hudsyn Chaput. Keating stood strong in the net while only allowing 2 past him. Stratford outshot the Hawks by a count of 27-14.

Next for the boys will be 2 away games this upcoming weekend, a rematch with the Sting and a chance to break the tie from this past weekend's matchup with the Oakridge Aeros.
