Warriors Battle Hard On Weekend With A Win and Close Loss
The Novice Tier 1 Warriors sponsored by Evoke Marketing and Promotions played 2 games this past weekend prior to the Christmas Break. They earned an exciting win on Saturday at home and lost a close one Friday night in London.

Friday night would have the Warriors visit West London to play a rare evening matchup. The Hawks would jump out to an early lead as they would catch the boys still with their bus legs on. The early goal would catch the boys attention as they would take the play to the Hawks and outshoot them by a count of 7-5 at the end of the 1st frame. Unfortunately an uncovered Hawk would find the back of the net midway through the 2nd but Hudsyn Chaput would answer back for Stratford with the helpers going to Will Pepper and Caden Ollson. The 3rd period was a back and forth battle with both squads entering a tally, Hawks would score first and Chaput would score his second of the game at the 4:20 mark on a nice feed from Jake Schultz. Although the boys put in a stellar effort late in the frame to earn the tie, it was the early marker in the game that would be the difference on the night as the Hawks would win 3-2. Final shot count would be in Stratford's favor 21-17.

Saturday would be a rematch with the North London Nationals from the previous home game the Saturday prior. This was a much different start for the boys as Maddyx Chaput would get an early jump in the game only to be stopped by a hot post. He would then tidy up his accuracy as he would lead the squad with 4 goals on the day. By the end of the 2nd frame Stratford would own the lead 5-0 but the Nationals would fight back as they entered a quick goal early in the 3rd followed by 1 midway through the frame and 2 more late in the period. The final score would be for Stratford 6-4 on the day. Also scoring for the Warriors would be Hudsyn Chaput and Owen Blackburn. Earning helpers on the day would be Jake Schultz, Nate VanBakel, Will Pepper and Graedon Smith. Strong Defensive efforts were entered by Griffin Harvey, Jack Haines, Reid Morris and Jack Bannon. The Nationals would top the shot count on the day 19-16.

Next action for the squad will be the Wayne Gretzky International Tournament in Brantford Dec 27-30th. The boys will be challenged with some good competition as they hope to repeat last year's Championship.
