Evoke Novice Warriors Win Home and Home Playoff Games vs Aeros
The Novice Warriors sponsored by Evoke Marketing and Promotions played a home and home playoff pair of games this past weekend and came away with wins both days.

Saturday night would have the Aeros come to town to play the second of the three times the 2 teams would meet in the playoff round robin play. The Warriors were ready to battle as were the Aeros.  There would be no scoring in the first period for either squad, but Stratford's effort was rewarded with a great amount of zone time in the opposition's end. The game picked up in intensity and the Aeros were penalized for the extra push in their play and that is when Stratford would take advantage on the PP opportunities they were given. Hudsyn Chaput would score the first goal on the PP with the play beginning on the backend where Reid Morris would move the puck to Maddyx Chaput who would find Hudsyn in the clear who made no mistake finding the back of the mesh. The Aeros would battle back midway through the 3rd period to tie the game when a loose puck was picked up out front of the Warrior net to deadlock the game 1-1. With 5:06 remaining in the 3rd, the Warriors were again sent to the PP and this time it would be Griffin Harvey that would find Jake Schultz who spotted Chaput open who again found the back of the net to put the boys up 2-1. Keating continued to play a strong game protecting the Warrior net as the Aeros would have a couple of late chances but Stratford held on for the win. Stratford would win the shot count 18-10.

Family day would bring the Warrior boys back together as they would load the bus and head to Oakridge for game 2 of the long weekend against the Aeros. With the boys sitting atop the West Division playoff race, they were eager to maintain their position. With a final PEP talk from fan favourite previous Stratford Culliton player Mitch Brooks, they boys were pumping and ready to rock. The scoreboard would reflect this early energy as they would jump out to a 2-0 lead with PP goals from Maddyx Chaput and Owen Blackburn. The boys would keep the pressure on and with all cylinders firing would add 2 more in the 2nd period. Will Pepper would capitalize on a play initiated by Owen Blackburn and Maddyx Chaput would score his 2nd of the game with a nice feed from Hudsyn Chaput. The boys continued to have many good chances and continued to control the play. They demonstrated great puck movement and team play. Jake Schultz would add the final Warrior goal with the assist belonging to Hudsyn Chaput and Jack Bannon. Keating played another strong and focussed game for the Warriors turning away all but 1 of the Aeros 15 shots on the day. Stratford entered 22 shots and were rewarded with the 5-1 victory.

Next action for the boys with be the Bandits visiting here on Saturday on the Molson Pad 4:15pm and they will take a trip to visit the Sting on Sunday morning.
