Tier 1 Novice Warriors Win Game 1 of Playdowns
The Evoke Marketing and Promotions Novice Tier 1 Warriors played game 1 of their 4pt series versus the Oakridge Aeros this past weekend and came away with the 2pts.

The Warriors awoke early on Saturday and loaded the bus for game 1 of their playdown series with puck drop scheduled for 11:00am. The crew was pumped and ready to play a game as they had been practicing hard, but had not seen game play since March 8th when they would await the Aeros to finish playoff play in the RR. Stratford would break the ice early when Hudsyn Chaput would find the back of the net for the Warriors leaving them ahead 1-0 after the 1st frame. Jack Haines and Piers Murray would earn the assists.  Chaput would complete the natural hat trick with 2 more in the 2nd period. Griffin Harvey and Nate VanBakel were the helpers on the 2nd goal and Reid Morris earned the lone assist on the 3rd goal. Jake Schultz would add another goal for the Warriors on a nice setup from Maddyx Chaput. Hudsyn Chaput earned the alternate assist on the goal. The Aeros would add a late goal in the 2nd period to end the frame with Stratford leading 4-2. The Aeros would push hard in the 3rd frame and add another but Stratford would close the door on the equalizer for a final score in their favour 4-3. Stratford won the shotcount 18-8 on the game.

Next game in the series will be hosted by Stratford this upcoming week, where the hope to complete round 1 of playdowns and advance to the final series in the West Novice Tier 1 Division.
