Warriors Start Off The Season With A Strong Showing At Home Tournament
The Stratford Warrior Minor Atom MD team kicked off their season by representing strongly at the Jr. Warriors Tournament.  The first game of the tournament had Stratford facing London’s Oakridge Aeros.  Oakridge came out strong scoring 6 goals.  Stratford found the net in the third.  Oscar Seip score one for the Warriors, set up by passes from Hunter Hallock and Liam Benton.  Noah Brosens stood strong between the pipes, defending the numerous shots on net.  

The second game of the tournament saw Stratford meeting up with the Sarnia Sting.  Stratford showed that they came to play.  Stratford were unable to sneak on past their goaltender in the 2-0 loss.   The defensive makeup of Blake McIntosh, Owen Van Gestel, Andre Lefebvre, Preston Jeffrey, Oscar Seip, and Will McKee stood strong protecting their zone, while Jake Taylor fiercely defended the net.  


Game three had the boys pumped up and ready to take on the Burlington Bulldogs.  The game was a battle between the two teams.  Strong support from forwards Finley Newton, Hunter Hallock, Liam Benton and Ethan Priestap helped to defend the Stratford Zone.  The game continued scoreless until Tayler Cook buried one in the net with a pass from Ethan Priestap.  Noah Brosens showed no fear as he stood defending the numerous shots to secure the shut in the 1-0 win.  


The fourth game of the tournament had the Warriors challenging the Ancaster Avalanche.  The boys were still hyped up from their first win of the season. Strong penalty killing by Rem Hruden, Alex Robinson, Wesley Patterson and Nash McIlroy helped Stratford in the 5-2 win.  The line of Liam Benton, Hunter Hallock and Nash McIlroy were on fire with Benton scoring two goals, and three assists, Hallock scoring two goals and one assist and McIlroy scoring a goal.  Owen Van Gestel and Westley Patterson supported the goals each with assists.  Jake Taylor protected the net in the win.
