Warriors Make Strong Comebacks on Weekend
During games on January 27th and 28th the Minor Atom MD Warriors proved  to opponents that you cannot let your guard down.  The Warriors continued their tie streak as the they took on the Brantford 99ers on Saturday.  The Warriors continued to come on strong as the game progressed.  The 99ers opened the scoring in the first.  Nash McIlroy with support from Finley Newton put the Warriors on the board with 11 seconds left in the first.  The 99ers answered back at the beginning of the second to take the lead back.  Hunter Hallock wasn’t going to let that happen when he answered back to tie the score with help from Rem Hruden.

The boys made sure they were not going to let Brantford take the lead again, working together to stop the 99ers from getting to the net.  The defensive styles of Andre Lefebvre, Will McKee, Blake McIntosh and Owen Van Gestel ensured the net was well protected.  Tayler Cook helped support the defensive zone by clearing the puck for the offence.
On Sunday the Warriors took a long road trip to St. Catharines.  The boys started the game off feeling the effects of the long ride in the first.  But by the second, the boys had their game back.  An unsuspecting shot from the goal line by Liam Benton found an opening in the net, sneaking behind the St. Catharines goal.  Benton’s goal was supported by Hunter Hallock and Will McKee.  Benton wasn’t finished, and addedd a second goal with passes again from Hallock and Wesley Patterson.  The boys held the the tie despite St. Catharines' players trying every trick in their playbook.  Jake Taylor stood strong between the pipes.  Oscar Seip and Preston Jeffrey helped to protect their net, while Alex Robinson and Ethan Priestap created lots of offensive opportunities.
