Strong Defensive Play Over Last 4 Games
The Holloway Automotive Minor Atoms used some determined defensive play and strong goaltending to earn a 2-1-1 record over the past 4 games.

This busy stretch of game action, which saw the boys play 4 games in 5 days, began last Friday with a 3-1 defeat at Kitchener. Despite the loss the boys worked hard on the back-check and the game could have went the other way with a few better bounces. Martin scored and Bowlsey was strong in net especially during the opening period until the Warriors found their legs.

Game 2 of the weekend was a 0-0 tie at Mustangs White. We held a 26-15 edge in shots but a strong goaltender for London earned them a point. Ethan Walters was equal to the task in the Warrior net earning the shutout.

Sunday afternoon at home was a 3-2 win for the Warriors and despite the close score, the game was decidedly in the Warriors favour from a territorial standpoint. Our boys once again outshot the opposition 44-25. Walters earned the win in net, while Hish, Davis and DeBoeck (with GWG) scored. Assists to Brenzil, Holloway, and Bauld.

After a practice Monday the weary Warriors boarded the bus Tuesday evening for their 3rd road game in 5 days. Fortunately they saved the best for last with a 4-0 win over LJK White. Martin went top-shelf early in the 1st to open the scoring from Davis. Then Davis chipped in a rebound out front of the net for a 2-0 Warrior advantage in the 2nd. After some sustained pressure from the Knights to begin the 3rd, Martin once again broke free and went top-shelf to the same place as his first goal. This deflated any momentum the Knights thought they were gaining and Hish sealed the game with a late goal from Brenzil and Cassone. Shots were relatively close as Bowsley earned the donut with the Warriors 2nd shutout of the weekend.

After weekend action the Warriors' record is 4-4-1 in the very tight Alliance Seeded Minor Atom Division. This upcoming weekend the team travels to Kitchener for the Oktoberfest tournament where they will be chasing their 2nd championship of the season
