WARRIORS SOLIDFY 1ST PLACE at HOLIDAY BREAK

The Holloway Automotive Minor Atoms won their lone game last weekend, 2-1 over LJK Green solidifying their first place standing with a record of 5-1-2 at the Christmas break.

Sunday afternoon in Stratford, LJK Green were in town for a first place showdown. The game began with fast paced action at both ends and the Warriors broke through with the first goal of the game after DeBoeck raced down the ice and took a shot on net.....the save was made but Bridgey was parked in the perfect spot to bat in the rebound. 1-0 Warriors after one.

The second period settled into a defensive gem by both teams highlighted by big saves and strong defensive plays at both ends. No scoring in this period as the Warriors still led 1-0.

The 3rd stanza began with the Junior Knights on the PP and they didn't take long to capitalize knotting the game at 1-1 with just over 14 minutes remaining. The game became a bit of a see-saw affair with both teams trading chances and with 5:48 left on the clock the Warriors struck for the go-ahead goal. A poor defensive clearing by the Junior Knights led to a 2 on 1 down-low for Stratty...........Cassone to Hish with a dirty-dangle for the GWG. Ethan Walters was rock-solid in goal only allowing the one-PP goal to London in securing the victory for Brenzil's lads.

The Warrior win extended their first place lead in the AA Constellation Division and the boys now look forward to representing their city in the hometown Silverstick qualifier over the holidays .
