Thanksgiving Wins 2-0
Thanksgiving weekend the Dunny's Source for Sports Major Atom MD Jr. Warrior team skated away 2-0.

On Saturday, October 7th the boys travelled to Sarnia to face off against the Sting. Sarnia put up a good fight in the first and second period holding the Warriors to a 3-0 lead, with solid defensive play and goaltending. The third period the Warriors found their strides and sniped another 5 goals. Sarnia was only able to sneak one goal past net minder Devon Loerzel who once again stood tall for the Warriors, giving them a 8-1 win. Scoring for the Warriors were Tyson Cassone, Logan Hallock, Liam Ollson (2), Spencer Murphy, Ryan Wilker, Owen Chadwick & Mathew Benner. Assists going to Benner (2), Cassone (2), Jordan Keane, Ollson, Ellis Schnurr & Zach Scrimegeour.

*** BIG Congratulations to rookie Ryan Wilker for scoring his 1st WARRIOR GOAL!! ***

Sunday afternoon the boys battled against the North London Nationals at the Allman Arena. Both teams came out with fire and hunger for the net. The first period remained scoreless until Rowan Smith sniped the first goal for the Warriors from a feed by Tyson Cassone and Mathew Benner with 5:13 remaining. The second period started off with end to end battles with Spencer Murphy and Owen Chadwick each putting up a point giving the Warriors some breathing room. Assists being credited to Ryan Wilker & Logan Hallock. The Nationals shot one past net minder Lachlan Stanley late in the second, but that is all he was going to give them. In efforts to strike past the Warriors, the Nationals pulled their goalie in the third but defensive group of Liam Eddelston, Luke Jackson, Jordan Keane, Sammy Binns, Adam Jeffrey and Zach Scrimegeour stood strong defending their zone. With 16 seconds left in the third Chadwick burried his second goal of the game with an empty netter, assists going to line mates Hallock and Liam Ollson. The Dunny's Source for Sports Jr. Warriors skated away with their second win of the long weekend, starting their league play 2-0.

Up Next: Saturday, October 14th the boys travel to London for Round 2 against the Nationals for a 10:30am game.
