Warriors Split the Weekend
The Dunny's Source for Sports Jr. Warriors Major Atom MD team split the weekend  1-1.

On Saturday, the Major Atom MD team travelled to London to face off against the North London Nationals for a second time. The first 10minutes of the game went scoreless as both teams went toe to toe, end to end playing consistent defence and offence. The Nationals were able to strike first with a power play goal early in the second.
The boys held their ground until Luke Jackson scored, assisted by Spencer Murphy to tie the game up.
Devon Loerzel was between the pipes for the Warriors and he was able to keep the Warriors on even ground by robbing the National snipers from every angle until the rain began. In the third period the boys brought their game up a notch and started pouring on the goals. Scoring for the Warriors were Rowan Smith, Liam Eddelston, Tyson Cassone, Mathew Benner and Jackson with his second of the game. Assists going to Benner, Cassone, Ryan Wilker(2), Smith, Liam Ollson, Sammy Binns & Adam Jeffreys, ending the game with a 6-1 victory.

Sunday afternoon the boys joined The West London Hawks in their fundraiser for "Pink at the Rink" in support of Breast Cancer. The Warriors & Hawks supported the cause by wearing the Breast Cancer awareness symbol on the back of their helmet as well as taping the base of their sticks pink.
The first face off and only 12 seconds into the game the Warriors were on the board. Liam Ollson tucked in the first goal of the game from a pass by Logan Hallock. Sammy Binns threw two goals up in the first, one assist going to Hallock. The Hawks responded by throwing up two of their own goals, ending the first period 3-2 Warriors. Second period the Hawks came out aggressive and used every inch of the boards to try and hold the Warriors from any puck movement. The boys dug their skates in and held their own protecting their lead and adding to it with two more gaols by Ellis Schnurr and Tyson Cassone, one assist going to Ryan Wilker to end the period 5-2. Third period began and penalties started rolling and momentum quickly shifted, with the Hawks gaining the lead at 6-5. Luke Jackson was able to hammer a shot from the point with the assist going to line-mate Jordan Keane to bring the game to a tie nearing the end of the period. Warriors pulled goalie Lachlan Stanley to try and gain offence in the Hawks end, despite the hard efforts of the boys and outshooting the Hawks they were unable to skate away with a W.

Up Next: Saturday, October 28th 2:15pm the Dunny's Source for Sports Major Atom MD Jr. Warriors face off against the West London Hawks in London at the Kinesman Arena.
