Minor PeeWee MD Season Opener – by Brett Buckley
The Stratford Warriors All Equip Repair Minor Pee Wee MD team opened their regular season play at London Saturday as they took on the Bandits.

Stratford played a solid first period, with strong forecheck from Lachlan MacArther, Ethan Plotnik and Cole Humphrey.  Defensively the Jr Warriors were led by Nate Framst, Jack Buckley and Jackson Campbell keeping pucks in the offensive end and protecting the defensive zone.  London opened the scoring early in the first but Stratford battled back and tied the game 1-1 with a goal by Jackson Grasby.  Quinn Elder recorded the assist.  London took the lead late in the first on a power play goal.

A couple of early 2nd period penalties to Stratford got them on their heels as London scored 7 unanswered goals in the 2nd frame to take a 9-1 lead.

The Warriors regrouped in the 3rd period holding the home team to 2 goals.  Hutton Patterson was solid in net stopping several scoring chances.  The line of Sam Pepper, Grasby and Elder had several scoring chances , but were unable to put it by the London goaltender.  Tyson Malcho and Brayden Gerber were solid at the blue line for the Warriors  in the third period.

Stratford travels to Sarnia this Saturday to take on the Jr Sting , and will face the Burlington Bulldogs Sunday night for their home opener at the Allman arena
