Minor PeeWee MD Weekend Update – by Brett Buckley
The All Equip Repair Stratford Minor Pee Wee MD Warriors played 2 games this past weekend.  On Saturday the Warriors travelled to Sarnia to take on the Junior Sting.  Nick Laverty was in goal for the Warriors and played very well stopping several scoring chances by the home team.

Sarnia led 3-0 after the first until Cole Humphrey took the draw in the offensive zone and muscled his way around the Sarnia players for a beautiful  deke goal  to pull the Warriors within 2.

Defensively Stratford was led by Nate Framst , Jackson CamSpbell and Noah Rankin.  All 3 stood out holding off the Sarnia attack.  Sam Pepper and Brayden Gerber played a strong penalty kill while offensively, Quinn Elder, Hunter Currie, and Ethan Plotnik had several scoring chances throughout the game.

Sarnia added an insurance goal late in the 3rd for a 4-1 win.

Sunday the All Equip repair Warriors opened at home for the first time this season taking on the Burlington Bulldogs.

Stratford dominated the first period out shooting the visiting Bulldogs 8-4 but were unable to put one past Burlington’s goalie who was very strong between the pipes for the visitors.  Hutton Patterson started in goal for the Warriors and was also great, stopping many tough shots throughout the game.

Burlington opened the scoring in the second period with 2 quick goals , both on funny bounces at no fault to Patterson.

Sam Pepper was robbed of a goal that rolled behind the Burlington goalie down his back but just unable to cross the goal line.  Ethan Plotnik, Justin Hodgson, and Lachlan MacArthur had some scoring chances that just missed , While defensively Jack Buckley and Tyson Malcho were solid, taking away lanes and back checking to help out their goalie.  Nate Framst played well in the visitors zone keeping pucks in and getting shots to the net.

Although Stratford fell 5-0, the score does not dictate how well they played.  The young Warriors are improving every game and continue to impress the coaching staff.

The Minor Pee Wee MD’s travel to London on Friday to take on the North London Nationals then play the Brantford 99ers Sunday  for a 2pm puck drop at the Allman Arena.
