Minor PeeWee MD Weekend Action – by Brett Buckley
The Stratford All Equip Repair Minor PeeWee MD Warriors travelled to London on Friday night to take on the North London Nationals.  The Warriors started strong with lots of pressure on the puck by Jackson Grasby, Hunter Currie and Sam Pepper.

Nick Laverty got the start and made several tough saves to keep the young Warriors in the game.  Defensively Brayden Gerber and Noah Rankin battled hard on the boards in the defensive zone, keeping London away from the Stratford net.

Nate Framst and Austin Cosstick had some nice scoring chances in the game , just unable to put the puck by the Nationals goalie.

London capitalized on some second period power plays to pull away from the Warriors.  Cole Humphrey netted Stratford’s only goal unassisted in the 2nd period.

Sunday the All Equip Repair Warriors hosted the Brantford 99ers in a very exciting and fast paced game.

Hutton Patterson got the nod in net and was spectacular stopping a barrage of shots from Brantford throughout the game.

Brantford got 2 early goals but Stratford battled back with a nice tic tac toe goal from Sam Pepper.  Quinn Elder and Cole Humphrey picked up assists.

After Brantford went up 3-1 in the second, Pepper netted his second goal of the game beating the goalie on the short side.  Humphrey and Tyson Malcho assisted.

Defensively Jack Buckley , Nate Framst and Jackson Campbell were strong in their own end, and aggressive on the puck taking away lanes from a fast skating Brantford team.

The Warriors were unable to score any more goals but the strong offensive play from Grasby, Ethan Plotnik and Justin Hodgson kept some pressure on in the offensive zone.  Stratford fell 7-2 but look to take the positives of the game into next weekend.

The team travels back to London this Saturday to face the West London Hawks at the Kinsmen Arena for a 3:30 puck drop.
