Jr Warriors Weekend by Brock Appel
The Hiller Realty Minor Pee Wee Jr. Warriors participated in the first ever Stratford Warrior early bird tourney last weekend.  The boys came away with a 2-3 record.

The team dropped the first game 2-1 to Sarnia. In game two, the Warriors rebounded and beat Ajax 5-1.  Goal scorers on Friday were Mark Pyzowski in the first game assisted by Nathan Gibb.  And in the second game goal scorers were Owen Gaylor, Ryan Haines, Marek Carter, Isaac Nickel and Luke Ahrens.  Assists were credited to Brett Knechtel, Mark Pyzowski, Isaac Nickel Gabe Emms and Ryan Haines.

On Saturday the boys played two more games splitting those as well, losing to Kitchener and getting some revenge on Sarnia.  In the Kitchener game the goal scorer was Luke Ahrens from Owen Gaylor and Brett Knechtel. In the Sarnia rematch goal scorers were Haines with a hat trick, Isaac Nickel and Owen Gaylor who had beauty to win it in overtime.  Assists on those tallies were Nickel, Emms and Pyzowski.

In the final on Sunday, Stratford Hiller Minor Peewees once again faced Kitchener and were looking for revenge.  Stratford opened the scoring on a goal by Luke Ahrens. Kitchener responded with three straight goals and had a two goal lead until Isaac Nickel bulged the twine with a pass from Haines.  Kitchener went up 4-2 but then Stratford got one back, as Haines potted one from Nickel and Ahrens.  Unfortunately, it was too little too late as the final ended up 4-3.  The boys will have another crack at Kitchener this Thursday.
