Update by Brock Appel
It has been a mixed bag for the Minor PeeWee Warriors over the last four games with a couple of wins and a couple of losses.

First the bad news, the Warriors lost to both the St.Thomas Stars and the Waterloo Wolves by scores of 3 - 2.  In a rough game which got a little out of control the Warriors had trouble getting any kind of momentum or shots from inside the house as the Stars did a good job of collapsing and clogging shooting lanes. Special teams were ineffective as well as the game winning goal was a shorthander by St.Thomas. Goal getters were  Luke Ahrens from Beckham McLeod and Mark Pyzowski from Ahrens.

In the second loss of the four game stretch the Warriors came out a little flat after a long layoff.  Jesse Merkel played outstanding to keep the game close and call ups Carter Petrie and Colin Shultz showed they were more than able to handle the next level as Shultz scored on an assist from Petrie. The other goal was scored by Luke Ahrens from Quinn Appel and Isaac Nickel.

Now the good news, the Warriors also tallied a couple of W's beating Woodstock 7-1 and Burlington 5-2.  In the Woodstock game (apologies to those tallying assists I can't remember after a couple of weeks) Goals were scored by Appel, Ryan Haines, Pyzowski (2), Ahrens (2) and Gabe Emms.

In the Burlington win (which I have the score sheet for) the newly minted line of Appel , Haines and Pyzowski had a solid game tallying a total of 11 points.  Haines and Appel each had a goal and two assists and Pyzowski had a hatrick and two assists.

Hopefully the boys can utilize the flying v which Coach Barney taught them this Sunday to rack up a string of wins and get some momentum going heading towards the playoffs.
