Warriors Capture Championship with OT Win!
The Stratford Motor Product Minor Midget Warriors needed multiple overtimes to win the championship game in the inaugural Stratford Warriors Early Bird Tournament held in Stratford this weekend.

Ben Wyatt would eventually beat the London Jr Mustangs keeper on a deke to the backhand after the two teams went from 4 on 4 overtime all the way down to 8 rounds of 1 on 1 overtime. London opened the scoring early in the first on a scramble in front of the net. Wyatt replied before the score could be put on then board. Stratford took the lead when Noah Rusen-Steele  notched a power play goal assisted by Adam Windsor in second. London would draw even late in the third setting the stage for the exciting finish. Stratford opened the tournament with a 2-1 win over Glanbrook. Cohen LeSouder and Connor Hill picked up goals in that game. The Warriors would tie the next two games against Woodstock and London. Jacob Wiles, Josiah Kraayenbrink and Jared LeSouder would figure in the scoring. Stratford met Woodstock in the tournament semi final. The Warriors scored early and often as they trounced their opponent 8-0 enroute to the tournament final. Kraayenbrick notched the hat trick while Jared LeSouder and Eric Roes scored two apiece in the semi final. Rusen-Steele would round out the scoring giving Stratford a berth in the final. The goaltending team of Kari Dingman and Carson Knott were strong throughout the tournament as Stratford secured the victory on home ice. - D. Cassone
