Big Win For Warriors Over St Thomas Stars!
On Saturday December 1, the Stratford Minor Atom Rep team travelled to faceoff against Sarina. Stratford’s first goal was scored in the first period by Tyler Jackson who skated down left ice and scored top shelf.


    The Second period saw no goals for Stratford. Stratford came back in the third period, with Evan Hughes scoring a wrap around goal. It was followed by Jake Schultz who scrambled in front of the net to put one in and tie up the game 3-3. Sarina managed to sneak in a goal with 17 seconds left in the third. After a time out, Stratford pulled the goalie to try and manage a goal, but Sarnia scored on the empty net to take the win 5-3. It was great hockey action by both teams!

    Stratford played again December 8, travelling to Burlington to the Appleby Arena. Burlington scored first in the second period, but Stratford answered back shortly after with a goal snuck in by Ezra Wreford and assisted with a sharp pass from Piers Murray. Evan Hughes started the third period with a with a beauty goal shot from the corner, to up the score 2-1. Stratford was in the lead until 3 minutes left in the third when Burlington tied it up 2-2. The Minor Atom Rep Warriors are keen to secure a win, next time they play Burlington. Net minder Quinn Smith, had fast hands and blocked tough shots from the Burlington team.

    On Sunday December 9th, the Minor Atoms tied up their skates to play against St. Thomas. St. Thomas was first on the scoreboard with an early goal. Stratford came back with a slap shot from Rowan Green at the point, to score their first point. It was assisted by Evan Hughes. Another goal by the Warriors followed shortly after by Evan Hughes and assisted by Owen Blackburn. The third period the Warriors took advantage of more scoring chances and earned a point by Graedon Smith battling in front of the net. His assistants were Jake Schultz and Evan Hughes. St. Thomas tried to fight back and scored a third period goal to bring the game to  3-2. With an empty net, St. Thomas tried to even up the score but the game ended with Jake Schultz passing to Caden Ollson scoring on an empty net to seal the win 4-2! The Stratford Minor Atoms were excited to celebrate the win over St. Thomas! Carter Keating was fierce in net, blocking shots and passing plays by the Stars. The team displayed grit and determination all weekend. They worked together passing the puck and setting up plays in front of the net.
