Major Atom MD’s Learn Not All Wins Are Pretty, But This One Certainly Had The Most Dramatic Ending
The Dunny’s Source For Sports Major Atom MD Warriors met up with their rivals the Woodstock Navy Vets on Tuesday November 6. The returning team members recalled how the Navy Vets had ended their season last year in a tough battle. The Warriors were excited to show Woodstock that their team had strengthened with the great new additions to the team.

The Warriors opened the scoring with a goal by Kieran Johnson, assisted by Wesley Patterson.  Woodstock answered back with a goal. Then Taten Mikel responded with the second goal, after a pass from defenseman Nash McIlroy.  Onto the second period, Stratford’s Tayler Cook sailed one past the Woodstock goalie assisted by Andre Lefebvre. Though Stratford was up by two goals, they were not safe, Woodstock battled back and tied the game with two quick goals, waking the Stratford players up.  The third period began and the battle was intense. Neither team wanted to lose this game. Fans sat on the edge of their seats. 10 seconds left on the clock the Warriors lined up for what they thought would be the last face off. Stratford’s Mason Bauld passed the puck quickly up to Liam Benton as the clock ticked down.  Benton raced for the net and took a shot. SCORE! The fans cheered, and then everyone saw the clock. 0.1 seconds left the area went wild! What a finish! This is one game that these boys will never forget.
