The ‘07 Minor Peewee Rep team, sponsored by Royal LePage Hiller Realty battled through two games on the weekend earning themselves a win and a loss.
Saturday night the boys played host to the visiting Sarnia Jr. Sting. End to end action in the first period saw cage minder Ryan McGill hot with his glove and sharp with his stick holding off the Sting attack. The Warriors nabbed one in the first on a even strength goal from Colin Schultz, assisted by Ryan Gansevles. After the Warriors failed to capitalize on power play opportunities early in the second, the Sting tied it up 1-1. Stratford answered back quickly with a beauty pass from Aaron Green to Carter Petrie who found the back of the net. In the third the Warriors nabbed two more unassisted goals one from Schultz and another from Green, giving Stratford a 4-1 victory.
Sunday brought an afternoon tilt with the Waterloo Wolves. Waterloo struck first sliding one in past Stratford netminder Zack Irvin. Grady Murphy fired one in to tie the game and it would stay that way until the final minutes in the third when Waterloo found the back of the net for a 2-1 loss.
