Peewee Warriors Repeat as West London Byron Optimist Champs!
The Stratford Warrior Scotiabank Major Peewees had a 5-0 record en route to defending their title at the West London Byron Optimist Tournament in London this past weekend.


The Warriors opened the tournament with a 2-1 win against the Erindale Spitfires. Scoring for Stratford were Quinn Appel and Nate Framst. Jackson Campbell, Cole Humphrey and Gabe Emms had helpers. 
 
In game two, the Warriors defeated the Lorne Park Clarkson Wild 6-0. Mark Pyzowski had 2 goals. Beckham McLeod, Marek Carter, Humphrey and Campbell had singles. Assists went to Emms (2), Carter (2), Cole Wilson (2), McLeod, Framst, Appel and Kaleb Martin.
 
Stratford outscored the London White Mustangs 3-1 in game three. McLeod, Pyzowski and Campbell scored for the Warriors. Appel (2), Humphrey, Carter Otto and Owen Gaylor had assists. Nathan Gibb provided steady defence for the Warriors.
 
Stratford won the semi-final match 4-1 against  a strong Sault St. Marie team. Pyzowski led the scoring with 2 goals. Otto and McLeod had singles. Brett Knechtel, Frampst, Appel and Pyzowski added assists.  Jesse Merkel played well and made some timely saves.
 
In the tournament final, the Warriors once again faced the Erindale Spitfires in a rematch of last year's tournament final. The Warriors managed to fight off the Spitfires en route to a 2-1 victory. Jack Driscoll had a strong game in goal for Stratford. Pyzowski and McLeod had goals. Humphrey, Emms, Frampst and Appel provided helpers. Colten Kuepfer showed dedication to his team, jumping off a plane from the sunny tropical south, and arriving to Arctic like conditions in London, Ontario, to join his team for the final game.
Stratford played extremely well as a team and all members  contributed in the winning effort.
