Bantam Warriors Earn 3 of 4 points in Weekend Play
The Stratford Canadian Tire Bantam Warriors completed their Seeded schedule on the weekend with games against teams ahead of them in the standings.

On Friday night, the Warriors traveled to London to face the London Jr. Mustangs (Purple) for the first time this season. The Mustangs opened the scoring just 1:15 after the opening face-off to welcome the Warriors to the game. Cole Lewis scored twice just 4 minutes apart with Nole Musselman picking up assists on both goals along with Tyler Wagler and Ethan Scrimgeour adding singles. Just :20 seconds after gaining the lead, the Jr. Mustangs answered to knot the game at 2-2. Jacob Hall rounded out the scoring in the first with only :45 to go with Caleb Arent and Nick Houben assisting.

In the second period, Wagler with two goals and singles from Hall and Houben put the Warriors up 7-3 headed into the intermission. Drew Wilken with two assists, Aubrey Carter, Arent, and Musselman chipped in single helpers in the period. In the final frame, the Jr. Mustangs outscored the Visitors 3-2 to make the final a high-scoring 9-6 game. Lewis and Hall each netted their third goal of the game with assists to Wilken, Carter, and Scrimgeour. Russel Sebben and Curtis Ball split duty in net with each giving up 3 goals in the game.

On Sunday, the Warriors welcomed the Kitchener Jr. Rangers to the Allman to close out their Seeded schedule. The Warriors were looking to clean up their team play on the defensive side of the puck after allowing six goals against on Friday night in London. After a scoreless opening period, the Jr. Rangers struck first with a powerplay goal in the second. The score remained 1-0 into the third period until Jonas Schmidt put one past the Jr. Rangers goalie on a feed from Musselman and Wagler. Curtis Ball went the distance between the pipes and made several key saves throughout.

NOTES: The Warriors return to action this weekend when they participate in the Stratford Regional SilverStick Qualifier; the Warriors have two games on Friday and two more on Saturday in round-robin action with all games at the Allman arena; Caleb Arent will miss both games on Friday due to a Major Penalty incurred on Sunday for Checking from Behind. The Jr. Rangers player was not injured on the play. In five of the past seven games, defenseman Issac Deline and forward Aubrey Carter have not allowed a goal past the Warrior goalkeepers while either one of them has been on the ice.
