The Stratford Bantam Warriors, sponsored by Canadian Tire, completed the home-home series against the St. Thomas Jr. Stars on Sunday night at the Allman.

The Warriors won 4-1 in St. Thomas last Sunday afternoon in the first game and in the process claimed first place in the league standings. However, the Jr. Stars won their game on Saturday in London to move back into top spot, so the Warriors were facing another opportunity to reclaim the league lead with a win.

In the first period, the Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead by scoring three times in a span of just over 3 minutes.

In the middle frame, the Jr. Stars answered back with two goal, while the Warriors scored once to take a 4-2 lead into the intermission.

In the third period, the teams exchanged a goal each to make it a 5-3 final in favour of the Warriors.

Nick Houben scored twice, with singles from Jacob Hall, Jonas Schmidt, and Issac Deline. Schmidt, Cole Lewis, and Caleb Arent added two assists each, with singles from Hall and Aubrey Carter.

Curtis Ball faced 16 shots in the game and made several saves during key moments in the game, while the Warriors fired 26 shots at the Jr. Stars goalie.

Notes: The Warriors remain the only undefeated team in league play with a record of 4-0-2 and are currently on a four-game winning streak. The Warriors now sit in first-place with 10 points and two games in hand on the second-place Jr. Stars. Next action is Saturday Dec. 15th in London and then Sunday Dec. 16th in Sarnia.
