Warrior Bantam Weekend Games
The Stratford Warrior Bantam team, sponsored by Canadian Tire, put their unbeaten streak in League play to the test with a pair of road games this past weekend in London and Sarnia

On Saturday, the Warriors traveled to London to face the GHLA Jr. Mustangs (Purple) team at the Medway Arena. The Mustangs struck first with a goal off a face-off just :20 seconds into the contest. From there, the Warriors outscored the Mustangs to tie the game at 2-2 headed into the second intermission. The Warriors struck two more times in the third, while goalie Russel Sebben shut the door and allowed no goals in the final frame, giving the Warriors the 4-2 victory. Nick Houben and Drew Wilken had a goal and an assist each, while Jacob Hall, and Cole Lewis added single goals. Tyler Wagler and Jonas Schmidt added one assist each to round out the scoring summary. Final shots in the game were 25-20 in favour of the Warriors.

On Sunday, the Warriors headed down the 402 to face the Sarnia Sting. The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period, outshooting the Sting 18-6 in the period. That was all the scoring in the game, as goalie Curtis Ball stopped all 25 shots to earn the shutout. Houben, Aubrey Carter, and Ethan Scrimgeour were the goal scorers, with assists from Lewis, Schmidt, Hall, and Caleb Arent. Final shots in the game were 38-25 in favour of the Warriors.

NOTES: The Warriors have now stretched their Alliance unbeaten streak to 10 games, going 7-0-3 over that stretch including six straight wins; over the last four games, goalies Sebben and Ball have allowed only 6 goals against (3 each) in 180 minutes of play; Nole Musselman, Issac Deline and Zach McCann turned in very solid offensive and defensive games and despite being held off the scoresheet, all were a threat while on the ice; next action for the Warriors is Wednesday Dec 19 at 8:00pm when they host the GLHA Jr. Mustangs (White) at the Allman Arena; the Warriors close out the 2018 portion of the schedule with a home game on Saturday Dec 22 at 6:00pm at the RBC against the St. Thomas Jr. Stars who currently sit in first-place with a record of 7-2-3; the Warriors remain in second-place with a record of 6-0-2 with four games in-hand on the Jr. Stars.
