team opened up the Alliance Constellation AA playdowns on the weekend and after
losing a 4-3 heart breaker to London Jr Knights Green on home ice Saturday they
rebounded with a 2-1 win in London on Sunday to even the series at a win a
piece.
Saturday at the rec centre a great individual effort by Jackson Mclwain resulted in the winning goal for the Knights with just 17.7 seconds left in regulation time. The evenly played tilt was tied on three different occasions in what appears to be an indication that this will be a hard fought series between these two clubs. Luke Gaylor, Bantam call up Cole Lewis with a beauty top shelf and Braydon Tinning were the Warrior goal scorers. Caleb Musselman and Maverick Mulder had two assists each for Stratford while Owen Duiker and Tinning had one each. It was a double whammy for the Warriors in the opener as it was revealed later on in the evening that Tinning had suffered a broken arm late in the game, a tough loss for the Warriors going forward.
Sunday in London an early Knight goal stood up for two periods but the Warriors came out flying in the third and a Duiker break away goal, a nifty wrap around tally by Zach Carman and a few key late game saves from Nolan Traynor gave the visitors the 2-1 victory to even the series. Jack Whitehead, Owen Singer, Ryan Adriaanse and Calaen Trupp helped setup the Warrior markers. Games three and four in the series go this coming Saturday in Stratford and Sunday back in London.
