Written by Dave Graff. The SMHA Stratford Motor Products Minor Midget rep
team threw everything they could at the
Green Jr Knights Tuesday evening with the 12 healthy skaters they had in the
lineup but needing a win in OT and with goalie Nolan Traynor on the bench for
the extra attacker London potted an empty netter for the 3-2 overtime win and
seven point to three AA series win.
Caleb Musselman scored on a splendid end to end rush with less than a minute to go in regulation with Traynor on the bench and five other Warrior attackers helping to clog up the neutral zone, keeping the ride side open for Musselman’s dash and his short side marker tied the game at two. Rear guard Will Scholzhauer opened the scoring in the second period netting his second of the series with assists going to Owen Duiker and Carter Musselman.
Stratford will now start a four point Single A Bristol quarterfinal series with Hamilton this coming Saturday at the rec centre with a return date in Hamilton on Sunday
