Written by Dave Graff. The SMHA Stratford Motor Products Minor Midget rep
team played extra time twice on the weekend bouncing back with a win Sunday
after an opening game loss to Waterloo on Saturday. The Bristol A semi-final is
tied at two points a piece with Stratford hosting game three this coming
Saturday 6pm at the rec centre.
On Saturday in a somewhat quietly played tilt with shots being 17-15 for Waterloo, an overtime tally by the hometown Wolves gave them a 3-2 win in a game they never trailed. Owen Singer and Luke Gaylor both scored tying goals earlier in the game for Stratford with Caleb Musselman and Ryan Adriaanse assisting on both.
Sunday in Stratford Will Schlotzhauer was the hero for the second straight Sunday with another late Warrior marker, his overtime winner giving the Warriors the 2-1 win and knotting the series up at two points each. Patrick Holloway and Caelan Trupp helped setup the winner. Action was aplenty in this one for the goaltenders, the Waterloo goalie getting this one to overtime with 43 saves while Nolan Traynor stopped 23 in the Warrior goal. Caleb Musselman netted a third period power play goal to tie the game for the home side with Aiden McMann and Singer assisting.
